China Glaze - The Great Outdoors Collection - Duochrome/Shade Shifters
**This review and swatch will be show casing the 'shade shifters' of the bunch. **
Ive been missing for a week or two, but I am back with these unique China Glaze polishes from their Fall collection. I fell in love with Pondering, Gone Glamping and Cabin Fever, because they ... well, shade shift! I do not own any polish like it so I said, what the heck!
Below is a photo of the full collection.
Before I get to the swatching, of all the polishes I love Pondering the most, followed by Gone Glamping. The consistency of the formula is thin which I like, since it allows for easy and no clump build. On each finger shown, I did 3 coats of each polish with no top coat.
I took my photos in natural light, but it gets more epic in direct sun. These polishes also have a metallic finish. I found that they are susceptible to 'bubbles' so make sure you are in a wind free environment when in use.
Pondering
Awesome purple to forest green shift.
Cabin Fever
My least favorite of the bunch but I'm warming up to it (get it? LOL)
This polish has a pink to copper/gold shift. In most lighting it is more pink that copper.
Gone Glamping
At first I was skeptical about getting this one but I actually love it now!
This duo-chrome has a silver, light green, gold and light blue shift. Applies pretty sheer on a first coat so for full effect, build to three coats. Please excuse my poor cuticles!
In all, I really love these polishes. Not sure if they will be introduced to the full CG line or if they will be limited edition. If you are ever looking for a duo-chrome, get these babies. Three coats for maximum effect and they look even more beautiful in direct sun light.
