Maple Holistics Tea Tree Shampoo Review
Hey hair care enthusiast! I have a shampoo review for you guys from a company that reached out to me a few months ago.
And you may ask why it took so long? Between a slight shipping error and my courier not informing me that the package arrived is why! Finally it got here and here goes my review.
Maple Holistics is a hair and body care company based in New Jersey since 2001, and they strive to, "... provide a natural, holistic range of premium products which can enhance hygiene, health and daily living."
The products are made in the USA, all natural, cruelty free, sulfate free and safe for color treated hair.
I incorporated the tea tree shampoo they sent me, in my hair wash routine for approximately one month. I wash my hair once per week, sometimes once every two weeks, because I sweat a lot in my hair! (Gross right? lol)
My experience:
The bottle I received is a full 8oz size. I was supposed to receive the conditioner but it never came in the package so I figured they changed their mind and just sent the shampoo alone. I have always heard of tea tree being a anti bacterial powerhouse that is good for your scalp, so why not give it a try?
This shampoo is supposed to keep your hair feeling soft and dandruff free, moisturize and soothe itchy scalp while promoting growth.
When shampooing I use a palm full.
The shampoo does cleanse the hair well and it feels super soft after washing. Normally when I wash my locs with my Suave shampoo, it feels dry but this didnt feel like I desperately needed moisture. My scalp is also very clean thereafter.
In terms of the later, it was not very 'soapy' or rather, 'lathery' and I attribute that to the lack of sulfates. Hence the reason my hair doesnt feel dried out.
The smell
This shampoo is NOT for the persons who like fruity pleasant smelling shampoos. This smells like EARTH! LOL
Not in a bad way though, it's just not a smell you are accustomed to and you can get used to it.
Ingredients
On the bottle the product claims to 'contain 98 all - natural compounds..."
Im not too sure about that so I hope the company can clear that part up.
The list only has 23 ingredients (see image below).
On top of that, the only natural ingredients I can recognize are the oils.
Final Thoughts
Overall I think this is a good product. I would recommend this product for those who have sensitive, dry or dandruff prone hair. It's not the best shampoo I have tried but I think its worth a chance if you want to try something new. If you would like to do so, you can actually sign up for FREE SAMPLES and give it a chance to see if you like it. The company has different products available, so if you want to sample something else other than the product I reviewed, feel free to do so.
