I cant say enough how much I adore the glowy dewy look! The look of luminous skin is just down right sultry and irresistible! Now let me clear this up first and foremost; according to your skin tone, you can use a bronzer as a luminizer ie, if you are dark skinned, most if not all bronzers will become luminizers for you. If you are medium to fair, bronzer (according to the shade) can be used to darken or add warmth to the skin.
In this blog post, I will be featuring my favorite bronzers, pigments I use as bronzers, and pigments I use as luminizers. They are mostly budget friendly and will leave you screaming “YASSSSSSS!”
No. 1
Ruby Kisses All Over Glow Bronzing Powder in 'Bronze Glow' ($40.00 TT)
This bronzer right there is 'thebomb.com' and the shade is an actual dupe to MAC's Mineralized Skin Finish in 'Gold Deposit'.
For the price, this bronzer might last you a lifetime, because all you need is a minute amount on your brush to apply. It can also be used as an eyeshadow, and especially on the inner tear duct area of the eye.
No.2
Ruby Kisses All Over Glow Bronzing Cream ($40.00 TT)
“All eyes will be on you with the soft luminance and contour flattering effects of this bronzing cream. Whether you're running errands or tearing it up on the dance floor, it'll give your skin a natural golden glow that will turn heads and keep them there. Mix with your favorite foundation or moisturizer or use alone.” Ruby Kisses Cosmetics
Without a doubt, this is one of the best bronzing creams I have ever come across! Great for applying on the legs and arms for shimmer and if you want a tanned look, this I definitely for you. Once you have applied, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly or else you will “tan all the things!” If you want to apply to the face, use a stippling brush for application.
No. 3
City Color Sunlight Trio 'Collection 1' ($30.00 TT)
“Sunlight Trio is the perfect all-in-one cheek palette to highlight and accentuate your best features. The velvety smooth, light shimmer finish of this palette is ideal for any complexion, with pigmentation that can be built up to your preference. Sunlight Trio comes in two beautiful collections, with a deeper or lighter color choice.” City Color Cosmetics
A very convenient product! It is indeed ideal for any complexion, except the blush which is the only con I have with this product. The highlight/luminizer is absolutely fantastic and you only need a very tiny amount, less you blind the astronauts in space! The bronzer is PURE FANTASM! On dark skin the bronzer is perfect and can be used to easily give matte blush a shimmer when applied on top. The blush in this product is not the best as it has shimmer but is very chalky and I do wish City Color changes the formula, other than that, this product is a MUST HAVE!!
No. 4
NYX Blush 'Terra Cotta' ($40-50.00 TT)
“Our pressed powder blush delivers sheer, silky color that glides on easily, blends beautifully and creates a natural glow. The formula is richly-pigmented and lasts for hours. Available in 24 radiant colors!” NYX Cosmetics
Let us take a moment of silence to thank the Bronze gods for this product.

I have had this product just sitting in my kit! Only when you are cleaning out do you realize the treasures you have! This product is a blush that is rose gold with pigmentation you will not believe! At first it looks very pale, but when you swatch, be prepared to be mind blown! What I love about it is that the pigment blends seamlessly into the skin and glow looks natural just as it promises.
No. 5
Jordana Powder Bronzer 'Beach Bronze' ($22.00 TT)
“A Silky, Smooth Powder Bronzer With A Lightweight Feel. Has Just Enough Shimmer For A Perfect Sunkissed Glow. Perfect For All Skin Tones” Jordana Cosmetics
At first I didnt like this bronzer but as of earlier this year I warmed up to it (see what I did there ;D ). Be careful in applying because you may apply more than you want to. Best applied to the cheekbones and cupids bow.
No. 6
Malibu Glitz '#17 Fire' ($10-12.00 TT)
This bad girl is an eye shadow that doubles as a luminizer / bronzer. The price is right and it will NOT disappoint! The pigment is buttery to the touch and honestly one of the best in my collection. All you need is a little, best applied with a blush brush.
No. 7
Malibu Glitz '#23 'Orange Crush' ($10-12.00 TT)
Get this, it's gold. (I know right?) Same description as its sister above just without the bronzing part. Perfect for that sun kissed appearance.
No. 8
Hard Candy Bronzer (Came as a set - $19.99 TT)
Swatch this bronzer with your finger, you get almost nothing. Pick up with a brush and hello sunshine!!!! All I can say is, GO GET IT!
No. 9
City Color Desert Treasures 'Heat Wave' ($35.00 TT)
“Like a sun kissed glow from a weekend stay in the southwest, Desert Treasures Bronzer gives your skin a healthy tanned appearance with no rays required! The smooth pressed powder goes on with silky application to leave your skin looking radiant with summertime shine.” City Color Cosmetics
I think the description City Color gave this product, sums it up right there!! Pigmentation is silky, applies smoothly and doesnt make your pores look enlarged. For medium skin tones, use this rose gold pigment to warm up the face and place on top of contour in the cheekbone area for extra definition.
No. 10
Milani Baked Blush 'Dolce Pink' ($60.00 TT)
'This silky blush with benefits can be used so many ways. It shapes, it contours, it highlights. Sunbaked on Italian terracotta tiles, it’s buildable from sheer to vibrant. Yes, it adds a cheeky pop of colour to your complexion. Radiance and warmth, too.'
Milani Cosmetics
I know its not cheap but Milani has some awesome blushes that can be uses as luminizers and I had to include it! Perfect for fair complexions for a slight colour deposit and glow. For deeper skin tones, will get away with it as a luminizer since the golden specs in it are to die for! I must get my hands on their actual bronzers though, I have 'Soleil' on my mind. ;)
No. 11
Milani Bronzer XL All Over Glow 'Bronze Glow' ($70-80.00 TT)
“Mix and matte with this two-in-one faux-tan superstar. While the matte half of this versatile compact delivers sunkissed base colour and contouring for face, neck and body, the shimmery highlighter side takes you anywhere you want to glow. Even more to love: The soft, silky finish stays where you want it and lasts and lasts.” Milani Cosmetics
Ummm..... “I think that's a no from me.” I am not impressed. I had a few hopes for this product but they didnt live, but that is just my experience. It seems as if it is supposed to have a shimmer aspect to it but it just doesnt happen no matter what I apply it with. From the 'how to' video on the Milani website, it seems to work for light complexions.
Do any of you have this product? Let me know.
No. 12
Arista 'Icicle' ($8.99-$12.00 TT)
May I just say, Mary Lou Manizer has a sister at a hell of a fraction of the cost! When I first became interested in luminizers, this was one of the first things I bought with no regrets!
The pigment seems as if it will swatch white, but oh honey no! Apply this to the tip of the cheek bones, cupids bow, chin and forehead and if you step outside and there is 'para-solar activity', dont blame me. This product works on the lightest to the darkest skin tones and is another MUST HAVE!
If I had to take anyone of these bronzers to keep me company on a deserted island, it would be NYX Blush in Terra Cotta, hands down. For more on bronzers see my previous post 'Bronze all the things!'
Any bronzers you would recommend for my collection? I want to see yours too, so share them with me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. . I look forward to seeing them!
XOXO Shaina!
