Article by NaturAly Life Hacks

Let's be honest, this quarantine sucks and we're all bored. Luckily for you, NaturAly is here for ya! I'm gonna be listing some of the amazing things you can do during this quarantine session that will help you build and invest in yourself more. Let's get into it!

Learn a new language

I love learning new things, especially languages. When you learn a new language, it helps to developer a wider skill set, which will make you unique compared to everyone who is applying for the same job position. Also, you can now indulge with the culture of the language and widen your networking skills. How to learn a new language? You can use Duolingo, a fun and free app that helps you become more fluent in a particular language. I'm currently on level nine in French, comme c'est gentil!
(How nice is that!) You can even use the website version on your laptop or desktop. Get started now!

Read Self-Help Books

When you research more about yourself, you learn more which helps to boost your confidence level. Here are a list of some of the amazing self-help books I've been reading.

  • The Greatest Salesman In The World- Og Mandino

This book helps those who wish to be successful in life; whether it's academics, work or even within yourself. With the knowledge of this book, you'll find yourself repeating what you have learnt in the form of a mantra.

  • Glenn R. Schiraldi Book to help boost your self-esteem.

Jush Up Your Fashion

When I was younger, I always had an obsession for the fashion world; the clothes, the runway, everything! I swore when I grew up, I was going to become a model with my own fashion line. That dream is still in the works as there are some pounds hindering that dream lol. BUT! Nonetheless, fashion is low-key my life. My friends don't believe it because of how I actually dress. That's because I'm poor guys. So I figured, during this time, I would really begin to showcase my knowledge and love for fashion. And you can too! Firstly, you have to know your body type and how to dress it. Stylecraze.com helped me with that step and I knew where to go from there. They teach you what to wear and what not to wear for your body type. Mind you, some of my comfort clothing actually infringe on these rules but once you have an idea, you're good to go!

Exercise

Yes, exercise. Your body NEEDS to be active in order to boost circulation and to burn off all the quarantine snacks you've been eating(yes, that's right. I see you. Take your hand out of that bag of chips). You don't have to do the regular, boring methods of exercising, you can exercise using Zumba videos and dance workouts. Afrifitness is my favourite dance workout trainer. I love all her videos! Start off slow, then work your way up. You can always take breaks in between,

Participate In A Free Class

There are free online classes that are being offered right now to help you develop your skills! Free Code Camp compiled a list of free classes you can take while you're home staying safe.

Take a Social Media Detox

The world is scary right now. In fact, I'm panicking. But if you continue to keep reading the chaos and madness, you're harming yourself. That's why it's good to take a social media detox once or twice every week. Take your phone off, or take off your WIFI and just relax doing any of the above activities. If you need WIFI, then put your phone on "Do Not Disturb'. Your mental health needs that cleanse.

Master Your Survival Skills, By Cooking.

Now is the perfect time to learn to make those healthy, yet delicious meals for yourself so that you can save money! During these times, our pockets are going to be under some strain, so why not budget and learn to make your own meals? Here are three sites that I use to make quick meals that do not require many ingredients:

  • AllRecipes.com

  • BonAppetite.com

  • Pilsbury.com

(Please Note: Season your meat before using it. The Caribbean way)

The list is endless! There are so many things you can do during this quarantine time to build up yourself, mentally, physically and emotionally.

Will you be trying out any of these activities?

Let me know!

Until next time, latazzz.

Peace, love and good skin;

NaturAly.
